This is especially true if you have lost multiple teeth on one side of your mouth. When that happens, you may feel uncomfortable smiling. You may not want to go out in public, because you’re afraid of other people’s reactions. Eating your favorite food may be an issue as well. If you are having a problem because of your multiple tooth loss, Dr. Behnaz Yalda, DMD can help with multiple tooth implants.

Why Do I Need A Multiple Tooth Implant?

There are several reasons why you might need a multiple tooth implant. You may have decided that you don’t like the way you look without a tooth implant, and you want to make a change to help improve your self-esteem. You may get an implant because you are tired of trying to chew your favorite foods while missing several teeth. You may also need to get a multiple tooth implant because of jaw pain that is coming from your remaining teeth which are shifting to cover spaces left when you lost teeth. You may need an implant because you are worried about your overall dental health, and you know you need help restoring your smile. You might be worried about your jawbone, and you want it to remain strong. You know that if your jawbone becomes weak, it might change the shape of your jaw or even your facial structure.

What Happens During a Multiple Tooth Implant?

There are several steps to a multiple tooth implant. We need to take a look at your implant area. We need to make sure your gums don't have tooth debris remaining from an injury. We also need to double-check your tooth area for infected or inflamed gums. If we find an infection in your gums, we need to treat it, then wait for your gums to heal. When your gums are ready, we can then begin the implant procedure. We will numb the area, then drill holes into your jawbone to place the implant screws. Each screw attaches a prosthetic tooth through your gums. When we have placed the screws, we need to wait a little while and allow your gums to heal. Then we can place the prosthetic tooth on top of the screw.
