Dental Technology
At Dr. Behnaz Yalda, DMD, we pride ourselves on staying up-to-date on the most advanced periodontal technology available today. Our use of cutting-edge technology allows us to better prevent, diagnose, and treat periodontal problems.
LANAP®
The LANAP® laser protocol is one of the gum surgery alternatives available in our practice. It is a proven treatment option for eradicating an infection in the mouth and a minimally invasive alternative to traditional gum surgery. If you have moderate to advanced gum disease, you may be a great candidate for treatment with LANAP® laser therapy. This treatment option boasts minimal downtime and can produce immediate results.
NightLase
Are you struggling with sleep apnea or snoring? Getting a full, uninterrupted night’s sleep is one of the best measures we can take to securing optimal health and wellness. Developed by Fotona, one of the most cutting-edge names in laser technology, the NightLase is a safe and effective, non-invasive laser treatment that can minimize the effects of sleep apnea and snoring while promoting greater sleep quality.
SmoothLase
Looking to treat wrinkles and finelines? SmoothLase is an advanced laser technology that can harness the body’s natural rejuvenating capabilities to counteract the effects of time on the skin.
Digital Intraoral Cameras (TRIOS Scanner)
An intraoral camera allows us to take a digital impression of your teeth and gums. We use a top-of-the-line device known as the TRIOS scanner. This device takes hundreds of photos per second to produce a detailed, colored, and three-dimensional visualization of your mouth. Digital impressions have revolutionized the way we place dental implants. It can also give us a detailed look at minor instances of tooth decay and gum disease.
Ultrasonic Scaler and Electric Handpieces
We use an ultrasonic scaler and other electric handpieces to perform cleanings and treat periodontal (gum) disease. An ultrasonic scaler produces microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of your teeth. These implosions remove the plaque and tartar deposits from your teeth while killing harmful bacteria. Unlike metal handpieces, the ultrasonic scaler does not put your enamel at risk for additional damage.
Oral Cancer Screening
An oral cancer screening is a precautionary measure that can give you peace of mind. We use the latest diagnostic tools during our screenings to provide a more comfortable and effective experience. We may recommend screening if you are at a greater risk for developing cancer due to factors like genetics and poor personal habits.
Platelet Rich Plasma and Platelet Rich Fibrin
Derived from the patient’s own blood, Plasma Rich in Growth Factor (PRGF) can be used as a healing treatment to trigger soft tissue and bone regeneration. PRGF is a safe and convenient treatment option for patients who are undergoing a bone graft or gum graft.
PRP and PRF are by-products of the blood that are dense in the platelets responsible for blood clotting. These platelets are also rich in growth factors that stimulate and accelerate tissue healing and regeneration. We may recommend PRP and PRF to improve and expedite the healing process following bone grafting, gum graft surgery, and implant surgery.
Digital X-Rays
Our digital x-ray machine produces much less radiation than traditional units and can speed up your appointment time. Digital x-rays help us capture very high quality images that appear on a computer screen within seconds for us to review with you.
PerioLase®
The PerioLase® MVP-7™ is an important part of the LANAP® protocol for the treatment of gum disease. Patients undergoing LANAP® laser gum disease treatment can enjoy minimal discomfort and downtime along with more predictable results with this procedure.
Oraqix®
Enjoy a painless visit with needle free anesthesia. Oraqix® is an efficient and effective numbing agent that can be applied before performing certain dental procedures. The area stays numb for approximately 20 minutes, leaving patients to go about their day without having to wait for the numbness to wear off.
Piezosurgery®
If you are a candidate for dental implants, we may need to modify the jawbone to ensure optimal dental implant placement. This procedure involves preparing the bone tissue using a device that emits ultrasonic micro-vibrations without damaging surrounding soft tissue.
